Greetings!
We are running a 4 node file cluster on Windows 2012 R2. Due to the increasing workload we are adding 2 more nodes in the server. Now these two new servers, though same make, have single socket (6 logical processors and 6 cores) whereas the existing file
cluster nodes have two sockets(12 Logical processors and 12 cores). This is a supported configuration.
We want one of the file system role say Role1 to never fail on the two new servers. As its facing performance issues and would like to run it on either of the 4 existing nodes. In the preferred owners sequence for the role FS1 we would add the two new servers
in the bottom of the list.
Please advise in a case of a scenario of a failover and a failure triggering a failover what configuration changes would be required to be assured that the Role1 would never fail on the two new servers.
