This is my first time setting up Windows NLB. I would like to verify one thing about the multicast\unicast mac addresses.
I realized a unique mac address is created for the NLB cluster. My question is as soon as the cluster is created, will this new cluster mac address be available right away under IPCONFIG? The reason I am asking is my NLB setup is not working (no network connectivity after the cluster creation) whether I use unicast or multicast and I don't see these 02:BF and 03:BF addresses under IPCONIF. I want to find out where potentially the problem might. If the new mac will show up regardless of the NLB mode I am using, then I don't have to look at the switch\router (for multicast issue) or hypervisor for unicast issue. And that can limit my scope of troubleshoot. Thanks
